Phillies Score 12 for the History Books!

Although the Phillies' didn't begin the season the way fans had hoped (one win in four games), last night's game at Citizen Bank Park against the Washington Nationals was one for baseball history.

The offense scored TWELVE runs in the first inning! The Phillies won the game by a score of 17-3!

During baseball season, I always check the Phillies' Facebook page while drinking my first cup of coffee. When I saw all the great photos posted from last night, I knew I had to share with all of you! The standing ovation the fans gave the team at the conclusion of the first inning brought tears to my eyes...

We don't know what the rest of the season holds for the Phillies, but last night was truly a night to remember.

Great job, Team!

Thanks, Guys!!!

Have a great week, Everyone!

  1. Do you ever think about Pete Rose? Not sure, if he got re-instated back into the Baseball Hall of Fame.

    1. I always think of Pete Rose! Without Pete, we wouldn't have won the 1980 World Series. I don't know if Pete is allowed in Canton's Baseball Hall of Fame, but the Phillies have him on the ballot for this year's Wall of Fame at Citizens Bank Park. The winner is inducted during Alumni Week. Thanks, Morgan, for visiting today!!

  2. I grew up in southern PA--Chambersburg--so we were physically closer to the Orioles and went to some of their games. For the O's, a win is to be celebrated, too. They've had many, many lean years. I've always like the Phillies uniforms and am glad they had a good game.

  4. Congratulations to your Phillies but on the Phoenix news today, our Arizona Diamondbacks made first place for a few seconds! Everyone on the program seemed quite surprised.
